Great story! Did you retrieve the boat? Here's one of mine, lost at the bottom of Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park for over a month:

The worst day at the pond is better than the best day at work.

a very good idea hind sight is a good thing ill try at the weekend i have take a boat out there it was in the middle !

Bad enough to be hit by swan, but sink as well, very sad.
Did you manage to recover it, I cary and use a folding fishing rod with a small ledger weight and a triple barbless hook for recovering sunk or disabled boats.

The answer is when it sank as the complete novice i was doing well out in the middle of the lake when a swan decided he or she wanted to land and crash down went the swan and the boat, the swan was not happy as was caught in the rigging but soon freed its self and few off as we watched the boat sink so Swan 1 sailor nil😐⛵
