Neither did I Dave😉😁
To quote the great Sir Michael Caine-
"Not many people know that!"
I found that plans are available, and full size boats, but no kits🤔
Cheers, Doug😎

Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug
Doug,
Thank You.
I had no idea that site existed!

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
Hi Dave B
I reckon that must be a scratch-built job.
Coast Guard Modelling website lists the 30' Surf Rescue Boat under Models as
None available☹️
Cheers, Doug😎

Gillman,
Thanks for the info!
I will try to see if I can find him ....
Dave B
PS From what I could find, his name was Al Mergens. The website was: www.coastguardmodels.com But is no longer active. You wouldn't happen to have an email address for him, maybe?

There was a gentleman out of Illinois that used to have the business, Coast Guard Models. He sold various models kits, hulls, plans, decals and custom lettering regarding all Coast Guard small boat and cutters.
I haven't heard from him in years and do not know if he has passed or not.

My friend who ended up with this boat decided to part with it.
He gave me the first shot at it ....
It is unique, and I already have 2 USCG boats so thought this would make a nice addition.
And, yes, this boat initially came from the same collection as the others I posted recently.
Members here have identified it as a 30' USCG Surf Rescue Boat, and I agree.
I have asked previously, but now that it's mine, I'm asking again. Does anybody know if this was a kit, and by who?
It does not look scratch built.
Thanks Again,
Dave B

Roy,
I have only seen the boat once myself. It didn't look scratch built to me. Since that time 2 other (more "seasoned" club members have also looked at it, and also don't believe it to be scratch built.
Our next club meeting isn't until January 17th (December is our only "off month"). I will see if he will bring it to the meeting. If he does, I will take a closer look, and get some better pictures.
Thanks for your interest, and for sharing your thoughts on it.

Roy,
Yes, I believe that is the boat it is modeled after.
Just cannot find who or when the kit was made.

Lew,
Thanks for that info.
Cool information about the life-sized boat that this is a model of.
A couple club members have now looked at the boat, and all of us agree that it doesn't look scratch built.

My guess this is a model of a USCG 30' surf rescue boat ("SRB", 30600 Series, built 1980-1990, being retired), possibility scratch built due to some inaccuracies.

Asking for a friend.
He recently acquired several boats from a fellow club members estate.
I have been able to ID most of them for him, but am coming up blank on this one.
Does anybody recognize this boat? Kit manufacturer, kit part number, boat name?
Or, was it an RTR boat? Same questions as above.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
