Good luck with the lathe. Come out of retirement 😭 , that's a bit drastic

Been looking at several second hand Chester and Warco lathes but a bit wary about buying without any kind of warranty. Chester have an open day this week with a number of offers so I might have a day there with a friend who is knowledgeable about these things. Might have to come out of retirement to fund this revitalised hobby!

HI Shaun, the damage was worse than I thought, every time I am waiting for glue or paint to dry, I do a bit to it, Ill get there in the end. The next day two of the same boats (blackjack29) had what we call a racing incident, well they actually smashed into each other, damage nearly as bad as mine.
Been trying to get the digging finished at the allotments while the weather holds. So in between building a racing sparrow (yacht) a MaggieM, digging and repairs to fast electric boat, not much done to the fireboat. Started to make portholes on the lathe, but I was not very pleased with them, so I got these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Model-boat-fitting-Flanged-brass-Porthole-14mm-diameter-pack-10-048-14-/350930645838?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item51b518b34e
Pot bellied stove, Lathe, what next?
I looked around for a decent second hand lathe but couldn't find what I wanted so I bought a new one (photo) been very pleased with it, tailstock took a bit of setting up, but apart from that it has been good.
That's it, my typing finger hurts now.

How are you Alan, how's the fast electric repair and fireboat coming along. Come to a full stop at the moment - all of the next steps involve cellulose or resins and its too cold to be out in the garage. Have to look at the luxury of a little pot bellied stove to heat it up a bit, trouble is its so full.
