@BOATSHED Australia or Canada doesn't get the question early, and stop calling me Surely!! 😁In Canada Eastern Time Zone we get the question at 8 pm local time. I think it is in squence of answering. I will answer moments after 8 pm EST and be the first at the top of the list. I will check back a couple of hours later (really, no life) and find more names above mine.

Having answered QoD in Australia the timing for a new question is still UK time for midnight or thereabouts.

I think the earlier in the day that you answer the question, the higher you are on the correct order of the list.
If you chech, that's why Austrailia are top as they are, What ? 12 hours in front of us so surely they get the question first.

Could it be a time order of when the question was answered?

I did have a look into this…

It seems it’s totally arbitrary the order of members scoring the same. Not based on surname, username, when registered, last online, or anything particularly. Simply however the database happens to retrieve the data.

An order could be put in… but what would make it fair? Rank maybe? 😆

Just wondering - now that so many people are in the 100% club and I have my own views on why that is - what is the order in which there names are displayed - is it random, those who answered first or is there indeed a ranking system in the 100% club ?

Sod it I got mixed up with when Mount Vesuvius blew up! How the mighty have fallen, not me but there were 11% of us. Never mind it will be a good day today! My birthday has come around again and we have a family lunch scheduled.

Ok Ross glad it's working again. I was going to put something about the likes bit at the very bottom of the comments page but I had to end my reply abruptly as my glucose meter readings were alerting me to get my meal asap 🤔☺, which I have just eaten. I have been a diabetic for over 66 years!!
I'm not into stopping to make and to eat meals when I could be doing more interesting things like building models ☺ or not so interesting like gardening 😐. There's just not enough hours in the day!! 😀.

Hi all, I was reading about AI and o/p, apparently it does get confused and imagines things. It is common enough for it to have a title, it's called Hallucination!

I had to look up the connection:
An EDGER in Marine world is a hand tool used for trimming and flattening seams in sailmaking. I just use my finger a really sharp box cutter, a fine point 40W soldering iron or a flat iron

I got there but the connection escapes me! With 5 word wordles I start with AISLE. I do not attempt 8 or more ones as I cant think of successive words during the puzzle. Any tips anyone?

I spent 50 years a a gardener. which has ltttle to do with ships

A hot cup of tea has more effect on me than iced tea or a long cool drink. It was very pleasant sitting in a gentle breeze in the garden for 20 minutes as well. The gradually cooled shower was great and I went straight off to sleep for 4 hours, but then decided a little longer might be beneficial as well!

I don’t understand why you would brew some tea if you were trying to cool off? I would understand if you were making Ice Tea but not a cuppa☕️😥

It is very hot here in Watford, I could not sleep, it was 2 o/clock, I gave up and got up made some tea. I answered the Q o D and found 4 others had already answered the question! So it was not just me? Or do we have a lot of late to bed members?
I have got used to just 6 hours sleep and a doze after lunch.
So model boat building tends to be an early morning session and another in the evening mixed up with the usual planned events and daily unexpected crises.
I am working on a small fishing boat bought on the auction bay partly spoilt by the previous owner. I have nearly got over the errors in construction but I am hopeful.

My next task is to insert a prop tube and drive is by an old servo motor. I mean really old when they were rather bigger than now and I used to remove the motors before disposing of the broken bits. I will let all know if the motor performs, when she gets in the water.

Finished my tea I will have a cold shower and try for sleep again.

Why not leave it as it is, you are not forced to use the clue

why not make the puzzle port word of the day without clue

I think the key part of the question and answer was 'wake'

With the Kelvin question it said it was about ship dynamics and apart from the spiral whatsits in the prop, only one answer mentioned a ship.
So you did not have to know the answer beforehand.

I think and have always thought that people look up the answers - even professional seaman don't get it right all the time so I don't think people that only just do models stand a chance of being consistently in the 100% bracket.
Having said that since the new board layout has been introduced the QoD questions have got considerable easier

Just my opinion
