Question of the Day?

You wait Pat, the system will get you before you get to 100%. Either it will swear blind that you have already answered it and got it wrong. That's another point how come when I am told I have already answered it I have always got it wrong!
Then it will disown you and say it refuses to listen to you and so you failed to answer today.

If you have been married for a shed load of years then you will know what this is like on a day to day basis. There is no justice no wrongs are righted and even if you were right anyway it will not work in your favour and so best swept under the carpet.

It encourages you into religion when you can believe that there is a final 'reckonong' after the lights slowly fade away and peace descends at last.
In the meantime I must face reality and next month it will be 62 years and still not allowed to bring my models into the house except for storage.

Question of the Day?

That question wasn't too bad today especially if you have seen the Tom Hanks film Captain Philips, I think that was what it is called 🤕 ?
Based on a true story with one of those types of life boats involved in quite a long part of the film 👍..
I can go to bed now happy 😊

Question of the Day?

Personally - I dont ask Mr Google unless I get the answer wrong which I do on many accasions - but not many know much more about "life in a blue suite" or sailing ships than me !! 😁😁😁but when it comes to merchant shipping rules and ship design I am lost 😠😠😠😠

Well of course I knew that. I got it wrong just to see if the AI was paying attention.

Question of the Day?

This has to be my best run in a long time.
Well for me at least since I have seemed to notice this form of working the % scoring.
12 days in a row of correct answers.
Cannot be bad for me.
I was only getting 2 ot 3 then getting one wrong then drop down again.
Tomorrow is the so called by my wife the unlucky 13. 👎☹️☹️
Never been very supersticious, but we will see what tommorow brings. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Question of the Day?

Shrouded in mystery this question 😂. Having watch the building of "Arabella" (Acorn to Arabella) and the restoration/building of "Tally Ho" (Samson Boat Company) I would have been mortified if I got it wrong. It is funny how you spend years building boats, tanks, planes, robots etc... and you don't always know exactly what the name of the parts you are fitting are called. I have always visually known what I need to fit and simply said "well it's time to fit the rigging"

Question of the Day?

Take a look at the dashes below your name, there are 30 of them. Each red one pushes you down the list until you reach the level matching your red count. Four example if you had only green dashes, IE all answers correct, if you got todays question wrong you would drop a position and it would take 30 days to get to all green again, if you got every one correct. If you have unanswered questions, this will drop your position but as soon as they are answered your position will reflect this.

Question of the Day?

WOW!!!!
I have done it.
I am ⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵
S A I L I N G,
10 in a row and I have jumped up a notch.
I have gone up to 8 on the list.
But is it because I am sitting up watching the telly.
The Secrets ofthe London Underground.
And I have been and answered it earlier than someone else and got an earlier spot on the % list ????
It makes me think like that this early now I have jumped up a bit on the list.🤔🤔🤔🤔⛵⛵⛵⛵.

Question of the Day?

Well this makes no sense.
Nine questions in a row correct.
Yesterday I was at 8 on the list.
Today I am now 9 questions correct in a row. and I have now dropped down to 9 on the list.
I dropped a placing on the listing???
Crazzyy 👎👎👎👎👎😮😮😮🤕🤕
I willnever get this way of how this is being worked out.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well at least I have had a good run at getting some questions correct.
I just hope I can make a double figure tomorrow on correct answers, and then I may just get to make a double figure on the LISTING as well ??????🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Then in the words of a true ledgend (Sir Rod Stewart) I am ⛵⛵⛵Sailing. Hopefully

Question of the Day?

Funny I was reading up about keels when I was designing the Hybrid Barge. So I thought I would get this one right. But NO. Again I should have read the question twice before I answered, rather than just click, because I thought I knew the answer. If I had read it more carefully I would have chosen correctly. The key words being "commonly used" 😁

Question of the Day?

All this diving is dodgy as far as I am concerned. I am a humble snorkel 'diver'.

My son has blackmail quality footage of me swimming as seen from below. But have seen some excellent sites including the Great Barrier Reef for a whole day. Then in the Andaman Sea off Phucket , where the water is so warm you hardly notice it.

Swimming with fishes at head level waist level and around your feet, definitely one to tick off on the Bucket list.

I had my own 'man' in a dinghy looking after me, mainly because he had to bodily haul me back into the dinghy afterwards. Good fun.

nice memories

Question of the Day?

I quite often wake up the bends. Mainly my knees they just object to bending too low. Maybe it should be called 'the straights', that is often the case too.

Up early today croisant and coffee. We had a 'break in' yesterday! Turns out a magpie also likes croisants.
Another day in the sun so will be in my shed from 07:15 hrs. Mainly tidying up. I used to build model boats in there but more of a maintenance shed now.

Question of the Day?

Greetings to all participants in the question of the day.
I don't want to spoil the fun of the game by inadvertently giving suggestions for the answer.
I'll just say that the question of the day is very easy for those who have done scuba diving (Ara, Aro or other).
Even those who have only done the basic course and even those with very little experience must know the answer perfectly.
One of the main problems for those who dive with tanks is the inert gas, that is, nitrogen.
It is not "consumed" like oxygen so it becomes a serious problem to manage in pressure changes [Boyle-Mariotte].
In freediving, however, it does not represent a problem.

Question of the Day?

With all this regulation reading and navigational aids I am thinking of taking a master mariners certificate as with all this new learning might as well use it.😊😊😊😊
However I still have to find out why 2 of my boats leak now!🤔🤔.
"Thinks" There could be a common factor here! "Me" and alleged competence. I shall go for the 'up the prop tube' possibility.

Got to cook Sunday lunch first, maybe I will try the exms for 2nd. Chef first.

Question of the Day?

Don't worry Boatshed, I am still paying the penalty of taking a holiday and being away from a computer - not even back over 50%, even with a string of right answers. Luckily, sailing questions play right into my past, so I can get most right. But for other advanced topics, it is pure chance.

Question of the Day?

Wow that's a real stroke of luck. I dont know anything about sailing.
I have guessed this one right.🤞
I am now 4 days in a row of correct answers.
Just luck. 🤞
I just cannot seem to get any higher on the list.
Since it has been shown like this I am sinking lower.
I used to be quite a bit higher on the %.
I am not bothered anymore about how it it worked out as when it is tried to be explained it never makes sense to me so why worry about it.
It's just a bit of fun.
The ont thing I don't think should make a difference is, when we cannot get onto our computer for the day or so why shoud whe have to drop down ??Please do not go into explaining it as I am not bothered because it just goes iver my head.
Toooo much there that I do NOT understand.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤕👎
