Question of the Day?

Agreed Rowen👍
(But spelt Machias !)
Fought in June 1775 at Machiasport.
Wonder which 'wrong' answer is deemed correct!?
I'm not playing 'Quiz Roulette' this time😉
Cheers, Doug😎
Note: There are significant discrepancies between these two Wiki accounts of the battle!

Question of the Day?

Me too, Dgossa, I used to organise a club quiz night.
After the first one what with the complaints all subsequent complaints had to be written on a £5 note which was non-refundable!

Worked very well.

Question of the Day?

I love these controversies.. Like asking is the Sole or the Heel the lowest part of the shoe. Or are the front wheels of a supermarket trolley pushed or pulled??

They should be Christmas Cracker questions!

BTW... Have a prosperous New Year all!!!

Question of the Day?

We had a problem with this question before. If a ship is out of the water you can only see the hull, the keel is a structure inside the hull.

With a yacht the weighted keel is below the hull, but not for catamarans etc.

As my score slowly sinks again!!!!

Question of the Day?

I’ve been a Ford parts man since 1994. The same thing happens to us, especially on the retail counter. Someone will order a left headlight, mirror, trim, whatever’s “handed”. It comes in, it’s the wrong side. They’re looking at the front of the car, ordering a left lamp but they’re looking at the lamp on the cars right side….from the front of the car. I’ve had techs do the same thing….🙄

The mechanism featured in the 'Strangest Things' series, shown on German TV a few months ago. I imagine that all the known wrecks around Greece and all the Aegean islands could keep the quiz going another few months.🙄

Question of the Day?

Not owning a boat apart from my models, I remember port as left- both having 4 letters and therefore starboard has to be right, that's providing you're facing the bow when standing in the stern. Works for me 😊

Question of the Day?

Hi, RMinMunich, I got it Wrong, I didn't see this question if it was a repeat question. And I'm ashamed to think after previously owning a boat for so long I did get it wrong.

Question of the Day?

Wow what an idiot, I owned a boat for over 25 years up on the Norfolk Broads and knowing Port is left and Right is Starboard. I am thinking I am facing the front of the boat and that's the left side, but that's my left side, in a way a bit of a trick question, you just need to read the question properly and and just not jump in with the first answer that comes into your head, so yep I got that wrong BIG time . Yep my left wasn't the boats left,THINK IDYOT.

Question of the Day?

Titanic again! I watched a TV documentary, something like why ships sink and midway through it the design of the Titanic was was called into question.

To cut it short the opinion was that the ship would break in half sooner or later.
It was down to the weakness of the hull internals at the point where she did break up.

There were also pictures of ships that had broken in two whilst in dock. According to a search I have just done and dated Nov. 2023, 2 ships are lost at sea every week!
This does not include small craft like fishing boats etc.

Anyone for a cruise?

Question of the Day?

This is getting silly!🙄
Today the question and correct answer match.
Yesterday the same answers did not quite match the question, dates different!
But it was obvious, in both cases, that 3 options were definitely wrong.
Recall that there was bit of a debate the last time these questions appeared.
At least Roy will be 'chuffed' that Titanic is back again😉
Merry Christmas All🎁🎁🎁 Ho Ho Ho😁
