Hi Colin, I am a firm believer in working through injury which I have done several times. I say try to do everything you can within reason. Don't over do it. I can't just lay around and get "better" it makes me feel worse. I'm glad to hear you're doing better so quickly. Thanks Dave RR

Thats good news Colin better is a good sign.Pain and movement are slower to come.
Years ago in rehab for a hand injury they had me use a face cloth in hot water rolling it back and forth in the water.

Quick update, feeling much better, leg is a bit stiff but mostly getting better. Left hand still not usable as when I try gripping with it I get excruciating pain and thumb still won't bend.
X-ray showed nothing broken, but my osteoarthritis in joints is worse. Told to stay as active as possible and try using hand in hot water ( so washing up after meals ).
This isn't as painful, got to wait for physio appointment.
Can see again but with slightly blured vision in left eye.
Stay safe shipmates and thanks again for all your kind wishes.
Cheers Colin.

Sounds like you may have torn a ligament. Tripped and fell onto an open stable door and hit my left shoulder a few years ago. Fortunately no cuts or head injury but it took me well over six months to get full use of my arm. Wore an arm support for a few months and used Voltarex, under medical advice, to deaden the pain. Hope you are recovering and feeling better.

Oh Colin. What can I say. You silly sausage. And you couldn't blame it on alcohol, that is so sad.
Seriously, my Janet was getting our night pills ready while on the FIRST night of a relaxing weekend away with friends(yes, we do have some 😁), she turns round and falls down a step that wasn't there onto a tiled Welsh kitchen floor. 5 hours later, the 999 ambulance arrives and takes her away yo Bangor Hospital with a broken hip, and a broken left elbow. She was in Wales for 12 days before being transferred to Worcester Royal Hospital for a further 6 days, before being sent home to be looked after by visiting carers, and (disabled) me. She is doing much better now, and darned near independent (Yaaaaay)
Hope you are also improving daily Colin. Take care mate, coz us oldies have to keep the world turning for the namby pamby youngsters.
Get well soon buddy.
Cheers, Dave and Jan 👍😊

Getting old is not for the mamby pamby. I have noticed my body changing ( brittle, weak ) compared to 10 years ago and I am only 63!!!. I hope you heal well Colin, we all need your knowledge and advice. Love the recent videos, keep em coming. No more fights with the trailer!!! Dave RR

Your sympathy is much appreciated, my problem was that I had taken a strong pain killer an hour before I fell, only the blood made me realise that I was hurt.
Luckily my wife was able to patch me up, today the bruising looked quite bad, but I actually feel better, except for my left hand which isn't marked but extremely painful if moved.
Saw nurse at local surgery today but she couldn't find anything wrong and said it was probably a bad sprain.
If still as painful tomorrow I will go to A and E.
As a few of you have said age gets the better of us and we don't bounce as well as we used to.
It's so annoying that I can't do the things I want anymore.
Cheers Colin.

Hi Colin,

Really sorry to hear news of your accident.

I also feel pretty helpless not being able to offer more appropriate advice - but I am not that sort of Doctor!

In short get well soon.

Sorry to hear about your mishap Colin, hope you are back to normal soon. I almost fell out of a Totara tree a week ago, (stood up a bit fast) while trimming the branches under the power lines to my house. If it hadn't been for a small branch I would have been sharing your pain or worse. I know in my case, the older I get the more stupid I get. Old age is a bugger at times.
Take care.

Ouch! Hope you are healing quickly. Slips, Trips and Falls are part of life, we’ve been doing it since we were toddlers, but as seniors, getting up n going again is harder.

Oh Colin,
My sympathies to you. I, too, have been having a few of those moments and they are NOT fun. I hope that you recover quickly and that there are no more "delights" in the future.

Hi Colin not sure I could put a 'like' to your post but my commiserations and hope you get back to your old self soon.

Had a few trials and tribs myself but on the mend now. Well I am writing this from Australia where it is summer. Whats not to like!
However on the outward journey I was rather nackered and used the assistnce offered to passengers. So I had an escorted wheelchair drive to the gate and then priority seating, by gumm it makes a difference!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
Roy

Know the feeling well Colin, putting the water overflow pipe back into it's hanger on my motorhome, tried to get up, fell sideways onto the center of the road, and couldn't move, thank goodness no traffic, had to wait until my wife came and picked me up, just some scuffs and bruise's, but very embarrassed.😊

Cheers, Pete

Accidents happen.

Just recently I have been having health issues which have held up my modelling activities.
Was over most of it and just starting to sort out my stock for further work or disposal.
Moving some stuff this morning my knee gave way and I had a hard fall with my face hitting the edge of my trailer, badly bruised wrist, knee, shoulder, but face got the worst, so now not seeing very well and left arm and hand not usable.
So no modelling this week again.
At least I can read what you guys are doing.
Take care shipmates, cheers Colin.

COLIN.
