Thanks so much for the response. I'm headed to that site to check it out. I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to using my lap top but I'll definitely keep you posted with any and all progress made. I managed to find a good supply of balsa and fine sheets of plywood stock and I have some experience with radio controls so now to procure some prints and then hopefully lay down a keel.

HI Jack
My contact tells me that plans can be obtained from www.floatingdrydock.com and I have confirmed that the link does indeed work and they have Fletcher Class plans.
As they are USA based this should be a good source for your purpose.
If you do a build perhaps you will consider a build blog to share your experience with our members.
Good hunting and building 😀

HI Jack
Welcome to the site.
I see that you reside in the USA so hopefully some of our American friends will provide some help with sourcing your plans.
Scale can mean different things to different people so it may help if you could elaborate on the level of detail you wish your model to achieve. Museum quality are usually exact scale but stand off scale is often more suitable for powered sailing models.
A true scale set of plans will have all the relevant detail whereas a sailing model will be more of an outline plan.
In the UK the two Mags are Model Boats (My Hobby Store) and Marine Modelling international (Traplet Publications) and both offer plans for sale.
True scale plans may be available and I have a contact who may be able to help. I will post more details when available.
Good hunting 😀

WW-2 destroyer

I'm new to this site but I'm sure I've found the right people for guidance In building a quality boat. I've worked on ships my entire adult life and have been building plastic scale models almost as long. I'm retired now and am dying to tackle a powered scale model of a Fletcher class destroyer In 1/72 scale. Could you point me In the right direction for scale plans? This Is something I've always wanted to do but never had the time to Invest. Now I have lots of time and ambition to take on this task. Any help In finding a good set of plans or prints would be muchly appreciated by me.
