Robert E Lee Steamboat

It looks like one that was put out by Pyro many years ago. I have the companion kit of the Natchez, which raced the Robert E. Lee.
So many ships . . . and so little time . . .

LewZ, thankyou for those details. I made the 500km trek by motorcycle to Gettysberg back in the late 70s before it became the huge tourist attraction that it is now. The air there is heavy with the souls of so many lost. Lost my copy of the paternal grandmother's family tree in a basement flood but do recall that someone in her family was somehow related to General Grant's wife. ACW, WW1 & 2 interest me as does a bit of Vietnam, mostly the technology aspect of those conflicts. Whilst in elementary school i built this pair of ironclads altho i think the kit was Revell. Also a PBY. And of course an Avro Arrow. Yes at 75 i am from the glue-sniffing generation.

RodC, It is and has been some for quite a while. I was an American Civil War reenactor for 15 years and although I was on the Union (navy) side I could see it happening. ACW living history took a dive right after I "retired". (I was going to add more comments on this but it would be very political.) My opinion on this sidewheeler has nothing to do with the name on it.
My involvement in reenacting drove me to researching the navies of both sides bringing me to appreciate the ships of the period. Not just ironclads but armed civilian vessels as well. Started to build an ironclad but got side tracked.

And it seems that anything Confederate-related is disdained right now.

Me neither Lew,
I too examined the photos in detail and it looks to me like a plastic kit that unfortunately wasn't very skilfully assembled.🤔 Shame. Would be worth more if built accurately. (Or if was an untouched kit still in the original box!)
I suspect it is a static display only model and agree with you the case is probably worth more than the model. At least judging by the prices I've seen for large display cases🤔

Greep, if this was a Rolex that you were offering for sale, you wud get 2-3-4 times the price if you cud produce the original box & documentation.

Maybe for some people. I wouldn't take it if it was for free (I took a close look look at the photos). Gaps in the structure, etc. The case might be of some value though.
- Just my opinion.

regardless of the matrial (plastic or wood) that's at least a £200 to £300 boat.

Really not enough info on the boat to even get in the ball park. Scratch, kit, material (it looks like plastic), size, static or RC, etc.? (I see you are in the southeast USA.) I have been GIVEN a good amount of model boats over the past few years (about 10 in the last three years) even with the electronics. Not much of a market. Depends on if you find a buyer looking for that kind of model.

Hello greep, looks like a well built model. I am assuming it is static, I personally would be interested. It looks like a nice case it's in. I think the price depends on what makes you happy. You can try to compare it to other model boats on the internet. Good luck in your venture.... RR

Hi,
I reckon your best bet is to try WorthPoint (Link below)
There you can research similar models and their valuations and/or prices they were sold for.
Good luck🤞

I have this Robt E Lee steamboat model that’s been passed down through my family. I want to sell it, but I’m not sure how much it’s worth. I don’t know what year it’s from, but I think it’s at least 30-40 years old.

I was hoping you kind folks could help me put a price on this thing. Much appreciated!!
