Aeronaut Spitfire

I bought the retro Aeronaut Outboard with brushless motor, I bought it from a model shop in France as it was cheaper, but they are available at Cornwall Model Boats or Leeds Model Shop, My father bought the standard non Retro style, its been fitted angled down, up, low & high with little change! when it catches right it flys, but a lot of time it will spin and just chop the water up, still a work in progress.

Can’t fit in other model shop this trip but Pegasus Models had the full range of SLEC kits plus a load of second hand boats that were tempting. Has been useful seeing the various kits, I was impressed with the Areonaut quality, think a Spitfire is on the build list once I get a few finished back in the workshop.

Hi Neil not really relevant to your topic, but if you are still Norfolk at the weekend Norwich Model Boat Club is worth a visit. My avatar shows one of my yachts on their pond a few years ago.

Hi Neil,
Myself and my father have both built these, excellent quality and a straightforward build, the challenge has been mounting the outboard so as the prop doesn't just cavitate, we've yet to solve that one completely

I’m currently touring around Norfolk (the UK county) and have managed to find 3 excellent model shops.

Buoys Toys & Models in Cromer
Pegasus Models in Norwich
Hobbies Ltd in Raveningham near Beccles.

I’ve bought from Hobbies via their website but their shop is huge and worth a visit.

I came across a load of Aeronaut kits and was very impressed with the Aeronaut Spitfire. I do like a quirky model and one with an outboard motor looks like fun.

Has anyone built one, am I right in thinking the Aeronaut kits are of a decent quality?
