What a great idea!! Even in the more temperate UK, I am sure that many model boat clubs suffer from a good number of members failing to participate at the lake after a long Winter.
A well publicised sailing and breakfast meeting would be just the thing to welcome the new season of boating fun.

Edina Model Yach Club Annual Spring Breakfast
We had our annual start of the season event this past Saturday.
A breakfast sponsored by the club as a way for us to socialize and rekindle friendships after the long brutal winter we endured here on the Minnesota tundra.
The event was well attended, and enjoyed by all who came.
A number of us braved the cold damp wind and brought boats to run before and after the breakfast.
I have attached a few pictures of the boats that showed up.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
