bargin the ebay one went I think for A£160 or A£180 just the hull.. so a good deal you have, they all need work on them , it's only recently that information on the full size boats has been avalable so older boats tend to be what the owner wanter or thought it should look..

Plenty of work there then. I have fitted a Como Drills/MFA 850 running 12 volts to mine and it goes very nicely. Peter C

HI CK
Coming along nicely. Good advice from Peter, covering with fine cloth and fiberglass will definitly Improve the finish and make the model waterproof.

HI the boat is coming along nicely it may be an idea to do what PMDevelin did and glass the decks with ultra fine cloth and resin I am shore he will tell you more if you are interested , but it stabilise the timber and makes it 100% waterproof and it allows you to get a nice finish that will stay nice.

HI CK
I bought brushless motors and speed controllers via eBay from China. Use LI Po battery and am very pleased with the set up. if you visit Other Matters on this forum I have posted pictures of the set up and the boat on the water. The 34" Fire Tender is not that big and heavy motors, speed controllers and batteries (IMHO) reduce the model to a floating brick. You are well placed to get what you want just over the border so I hope your visit encourages you to go light. Good luck
Dave

Hello,
thanks
for that
I was at a lipo/ and motor factory factory the other day in china was really interesting,

check out the progress on the boat,

cheers

HI Cakfilth, I wonder are you the furthest member from UK??

I use a graupner brushed motor at present, 9.4v, but run on 2 x 9.2v nimh packs, so really pushing the volts up, but with water cooling and a 2:1 gearbox ratio, its stone cold, very very fast, to te point of unstable

Anybody had a success with brushless I wonder?

I am not sure if I am the furthest person but Hong Kong is a great place for RC boating since most of the parks here have a RC Boat park, and All of the electronics are made just over the border makes Batteries Motors and electronics quite cheap here. I lived in london for 7 years before here thats where I got hooked on the AeroKits Models, Originally I am from the USA (don't hold it against me), can anybody send me some good shots of their details on the 34" fire Boats,
thanks

cheers

I've also used the Como Drills 850 12v motors in both my Fireboat and my Sea Commander. Both go remarkably well. They do a kit that includes the Motor, an Electronic speed controller, prop and all the wiring to link it all up. Highly recommended. Peter C
