Coming along nicely. Good advice from Peter, covering with fine cloth and fiberglass will definitly Improve the finish and make the model waterproof.

I bought brushless motors and speed controllers via eBay from China. Use LI Po battery and am very pleased with the set up. if you visit Other Matters on this forum I have posted pictures of the set up and the boat on the water. The 34" Fire Tender is not that big and heavy motors, speed controllers and batteries (IMHO) reduce the model to a floating brick. You are well placed to get what you want just over the border so I hope your visit encourages you to go light. Good luck
Dave
Hello,
thanks
for that
I was at a lipo/ and motor factory factory the other day in china was really interesting,
check out the progress on the boat,
cheers

I use a graupner brushed motor at present, 9.4v, but run on 2 x 9.2v nimh packs, so really pushing the volts up, but with water cooling and a 2:1 gearbox ratio, its stone cold, very very fast, to te point of unstable
Anybody had a success with brushless I wonder?
I am not sure if I am the furthest person but Hong Kong is a great place for RC boating since most of the parks here have a RC Boat park, and All of the electronics are made just over the border makes Batteries Motors and electronics quite cheap here. I lived in london for 7 years before here thats where I got hooked on the AeroKits Models, Originally I am from the USA (don't hold it against me), can anybody send me some good shots of their details on the 34" fire Boats,
thanks
cheers
