Graupner Torpedo Boat "DACHS"

The Jaguar schnellboots were the previous class. The "Dachs" photo is a Zobel class type 142. It could look confusing to some because the more common model Zobel's are the upgraded versions, type 142A. The difference between the 142 and 142A is significant. (Graupner started production of the 142 version but upgraded the kit to the type 142A soon after the real boats were upgraded.)

I bought my 142A in London in 1975, started it then stored it. After 2000, I decided to finish it but that took another 10 years as the internet was now available - and so was information on the real boats. Nothing like starting all over!

Probably not a build time record, but it did take over 35 years from purchase to running.

I had a Zobel class 142 but I think the groupner kit looks more like the jaguar class fast patrol boat

Dachs (as type 142, before conversion): See attached photos.

Also, I have the Graupner manual (for the 142A conversion) in English. If you want it I can email it to you.

The Graupner's 142A Schnellboot plans are not to scale. Here is a comparison of the deck plan (I am trying to locate a much better plan):

I did a lot of research on these type 142 & 142A Zobel class "schnellboots" for my "mid-rebuild restart" to greatly improve my Wiesel P6093. (Graupner did a poor job on creating this model.)

So I have a lot of historical data, drawings, photos, and "how-to" instructions which is on my site:

Let me know if you need anything more on this classy looking boat.
