1:12 Tyne Class Lifeboat

I have used Speedline windows on a 1/16 the slipway Trent Lifeboat. Although expensive they are a very accurate product and give a first class result. You might also talk to Adrian at Speedline about the stanchions issue as he may have a solution.

1:12 Tyne Class Lifeboat

Hi
I was going to suggest you look on Mayhem, but see you have already posted and received a reply. Most Lifeboat fittings are best hand made. There are castings available but not that strong and prone to breakage on a working model.
If you are modelling an actual lifeboat then I suggest you check you window suppliers offerings. Not all lifeboats have the same type of windows.
Good luck 😀

1:12 Tyne Class Lifeboat

Hi

I am smudger's dad and have bought him a 1:12 Tyne from Models by Design

To begin with I am looking to source the stanchions (Approx 77mm - mersey class Is the same size)

plus I need the upside down "U" fittings that the stanchions fit on. Any help In the direction of

sourcing these fittings would be appreciated. I do know that Model Slipway do a 1:12 lifeboat Fittings

in white metal but I would prefer brass also Metcalfe Models do not or stock fittings for lifeboats any longer

I can get windows kit from Mac's Mouldings or Speedline Models. Big price difference though

Thank You

Tony Maguire
