Thanks for your help Mark,
That was just what I was looking for (spoilt for choice now - always good!!).

Rubber boat fenders

First ever post on any forum, so here goes.

I have noticed that on several pictures of model boats the fenders going round the hull seem to be made out of what appears to be black rubber tube. Am I correct? My Solent Lifeboat (built 25 years ago) has a plastic tube and, like me, is becoming brittle with age but, unlike me, the paint flakes off when bumped!
Does anyone know what it is and, as Importantly, where it can be bought from - I want to give it a try!!
Thanks

If you go to model slipway website modelslipway.co.uk look in there fittings page and you will find two sizes. There is made of neoprene. That's what they supply in there kits. You just use contact adhesive like UHU or something along those lines to stick it. They sell it by the metre with a minimum order of three if I remember correctly.
