Going to need a bigger study

Spread out now over nearly 70 years I have always experienced great joy when I roll open a set of plans. This began with rubber powered model aircraft in the mid-1950s continued with controlline in the 1960s then a brief hiatus until 100in Standard class sailplanes in the late 1970s. Overlaid over these decades has always been ship models, I returned there during the pandemic and have stuck with radio controlled model ships since then...ships crash only in 2dimensions unlike aircraft in 3D. I get great joy studying tugboats and other work boats. And with model railroading spanning 1950-2013

Hi all!
This is amazing, but there are old plans on my PC and in some folders in my office. .
I also received them as a gift back then.
It's always great to rummage around there . . .
I always enjoy looking at something like this when I'm travelling with our motorhome in the evening. As my wife is a bookworm, I have time for myself!
I don't have time for that in winter. Winter time = craft time!🤗🤗🤗

I suffer from the same affliction.
However, I am quite proud of myself. This past week I drove past a town 130 miles from home where a lady has had a pusher tug posted for sale on FB Marketplace since early summer.
As hard as it was, I resisted stopping to "look at it" on both the trip out and the return trip.
(The picture is for reference only, I DID NOT stop and buy it, LOL).
I think attending the weekly meetings of Model Boat Buyers Anonymous is helping!

"Hello my name is Dave, and I have a problem"

PS Congrats on the great find!
So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Going to need a bigger study

Once again something popped up locally on FaceBook Marketplace that I couldn’t refuse.

Bought a box of about 100 Model Boat and Marine Modelling magazines. Lots of mid 70s - mid 80s then a few from each year up to 2007. Lots have plans. The whole box was £5. They’ve all been stored well and they are in great condition. Should keep me quiet for a while.
