Well I've had no information back from my posts about suitable motor for my Chris Craft, not even within the club. So seems my winter project is to remove the odd ball shaft, fit a 4mm. Then I can start experimenting with both props and motors.

So I have only tried a std 600 fan cooled, too slow & a bit long,a an old graupner speed race 500, slightly better, but gets warm on 7.2v. Think the prop shaft is 3/16th. So that's a problem for a prop change. Working on that one. Going on hold soon so will be a while before I try brushless.

Post how you get on in your search, I just bought a 1949 chris craft that needs a motor. With no prior knowledge my choices are standard dumas motor or finding something here!

Can anyone recommend a motor either brushed or brushless for my Dumas Chris Craft 28 1/2" barrel back. I would like a reasonable turn of speed without It being "over the top" currently has a standard 540 fitted which gets hot even on 7.2v with a 35mm Ish 3 blade propeller. I may try a 2 blade first.
Thanks.
