HI all fly fishing line might be worth a try as the line dose seem to have some buoyancy to it, and would look like rope.

I did eventually get some form of skier working, with the aid of a clear plastic m'tronics box under water as a boyancy aid!!

I seem to remember this being done many years ago the trick was to actually tow the skis and fake up the apparent tow to the rider.

Remember this is something I remember from the 60s the 2 skis were held apart by piano wire and provided all the flotation required by skis and figure.

Nice thought but the piano wire will not work very well as when the boat tuns it will tend to push the skier outside the wake when he should follow it, fishing line would be better but the skier would have to be made to float in the skiing position, that would be difficult once the boat moved, a skier pulls from the waist not with arms straight so that would help with balance, good if you could do it.
