Kyosho RC Boats ....

Here on Long Island, New York the use of petrol powered anything RC is prohibited almost everywhere. There is one exception that I know of which is a organization of RC petrol racing boats. It is a limited group and you must pay an annual fee of $100 to cover the cost of insurance that is a requirement by the town to allow the water to be used for this purpose. The lake is in a very secluded part of a public park with limited access and is patrolled by a park ranger. Len

Our lake is a “fisherman’s lake.” As a result radio controlled boating is frowned upon, anything gas powered is prohibited because of the noise. It took a while to get the board to ease up on my electric boats that I’ve shared here. It doesn’t hurt that my wife is on the board! 👍🏻
So as long as they’re not in the water while my neighbor’s kids are swimming all is ok. Although it’s kind of funny as the neighbor’s kids are fascinated with them and beg me to bring them out. 😉

Kyosho RC Boats ....

Boatshed a good morning
As already mentionned in previous conversations we have a pond especially built for us complete in concrete 1,30 m deep and 2 levels below groundlevel ( to avoid the wind when we are sailing. We are based next to the yachting harbour and the river Schelde . The first row of houses is a couple of 100 meters away. Wa are not allowed to run these sort of boats.
It's primarely the green party!!! Nothing is allowed any more these days. Even model airplanes or helis must have electric motors while their airfield is miles away from houses.
I had 2 boats that run on petrol one was a chris craft, it was a joy, a pleasure to run them. But unfortunately those times are gone

Sorry to hear about the restrictions on fuel powered boats. Are there similar restrictions on model aircraft?🤔

Another old restoration that I am still sorting...Kyosho Wavemaster with another set of colors from my endless decal stash. Always thought these tunnel hulls were sharp as hell! Hope to get some speed runs in soon. 👍😊

Hermank, We are very restricted on where we can run these engines over here now. There are many places that are banning them. I have sold off all of mine. I had 6 that had never been run, a Zenoah that I had blinged it all up fitted a clutch and an electric start and run it in ready to install in a boat. (Here is a picture of my Zenoah I had Cost me over £500 an I only got £275 on Ebay for it) Also removed 4 engines out of boats that hadn't had more that a couple of hours running and sold them all off on Ebay. I live in an area where I have nowhere where I can use an IC/ petrol engine.

Nice looking boat, unfortunately not enough experience to offer any advice on this; however, I'm sure there's plenty of help on this site from other members. Don't worry- we don't bite 😁

Kyosho RC Boats ....

good afternoon , new to the forum so please be gentle 😊

I have an old but un -used Kyosho ''CAT1- Lamborghini RC boat with an Fibre glass Hull. It has been sat un-used for many many years in a dark cupboard ( a big cupboard ) and I thought I. would get it out and recommission etc. The hull is great but sadly kyosho chose to equip the boat with a plastic outdrive system with a rigid prop shaft and dog drive plastic prop. I would like to be able to replace all this with CNC aluminium and would like to know if anyone has experience of doing such a job on this boat and could recommend the parts required. All my local model shops now seem to concentrate on rc cars so am unable to to take boat along to check on fittings etc ...thanks in advance - photos of boat to follow ...
