Glasgow Riverside Museum

Excellent portfolio of photographs and a fantastic museum. I don't get to Glasgow as often as I used to, but this museum looks to be definitely on my list.
Those builder's models are beautiful aren't they?
Thank you for posting these

Glasgow Riverside Museum

I think the Puffer in the lower part of pic 6 is of the first Pibroch(1923), the White Horse whisky boat, modelled by Sandy Cousins a friend, about 30 - 40 years ago, he is now dead of course!

Glasgow Riverside Museum

While we were on our recent vacation, a friend and I wondered over to the Glasgow Riverside Museum. It is basically a transportation museum. It features cars, trains, trolleys, AND hundreds of model boats!

Nearly all of the boats are in glass cases, so it is difficult to get a picture without some glare. They also have a lot of model boats on a suspended conveyor setup.

I am posting just a sample of what is there. But I encourage anyone visiting Glasgow to pay a visit to the Riverside Museum. (admission is free!).

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
