Hi Rogal, they are all excellent photos, you did well to share them but the one I commented on has a peculiarity.

We immediately realize that it is a scale model (however well made it is) and not a real ship because our brain immediately associates different proportions (correct me if I'm wrong).

What immediately catches the eye are the proportions between the model and the external context (trees, houses, people, other objects of notable size) but also of the waves.
As a rule, the lapping waves are always larger than reality (this is jarring and automatically makes us understand that it is a scale model).
The trees and people are much bigger (logically) and this is also giving away. In your case, thanks to the angle you chose, the proportion with the vegetation is not immediately established (thanks also to the absence of trees, people and other revealing objects).
Furthermore, there are no waves on the surface of the water.


Finally, in addition to the excellent attention to detail, the light and colors contribute a lot.

Good evening AlessandroSPQR. Thanks for your interest, the photo was an early water test with a part completed model and the only one I could find with a view from the stern showing the name plate. I built off plans but took dozens of screen shots to try and get the detail right. And then used modellers prerogative to do my own thing. Here’s some other photos.

I have modelled for a large number of years but it makes a big difference to see the original instructions and drawings.

Very tempting Chris, I purchased another Inga a few weeks ago and as you may have seen have renamed her Olga as a sister ship. It wasn’t until last week at the pond someone queried my boat naming choice as they thought there was a theme developing. They had seen my other build from “jaws” and pointed out I now had an Inga, Olga and Orca, “ What’s the next one going to be called”?. They asked.!!!

For anyone interested I have a Inga1V hull complete and ballasted and superstructure complete and in need of restoration but generally both hull and superstructure good condition.
I also have the original sails which could provide a pattern.
No rig but plans and original build instructions available.
This was purchased as a pattern for my wooden Inga1V which is now complete.
I would like it to go on for someone to rebuild her any offers?
I believe my build blog CGINGA1V on this website does show photos of this donor yacht.
I would prefer collection but would be prepared to cover part of a reasonable journey.

Hi Aeromax, I have the original build instructions and the plans that were with the original kit.these were sent to me by wonderful modellers on this great site we have here.i had never owned or built a yacht before, but with the help of these knowledgable guys I was able to complete my IngaIV. You are most welcome to a copy they are unfortunately only in A4 sections if you can print and join together or as I also did view them on my computer and zoom in to the section I was building.I also have photos of the actual boat which helped with the finer detail heres some idea of what I have.

Have an old Inga IV for renovation( in bits with all the interior ripped out).
Not been able to find drawings or instructions to return it to the manufacturers setup/ finish.
Did you have a source for your information.
