Stopped using any China source some 15 years ago, following a massive Duty charge from German Customs which more than doubled the price of a batch of audio transducers.
Not quite full blown speakers, you stick them on the hull side, inside the hull😉 to make the whole hull resonate with the sound input.
Thus projecting the sound sideways making them much more audible on the lake🙉 than conventional speakers blasting upwards.

HA Kits made in the UK are good and worth supporting.

I have seen them at the open day display at Bury Metro Marine where I was able to see the entire range and I was very impressed.

The HA Flying Christine is a classic, but their complete range is worth taking a look at to see if any of them appeal to you.

The HA Boat Stands look good too - I must get myself some of these

Worth a look here:-https://hakits.co.uk/?page_id=372

ps - I have no connection whatsoever with HA Kits.

I bought a DRO for my lathe and found the whole experience good. Quality, lead time and communications faultless.
I bought a “Rigger” boat kit and found it to be good as well.

Hi Pat they are my first call for tools cables RC and I bought 24 off, 4/5th. Sub-C cells and they are good and working well. I have been suspicious of cells from China but I have a Watt meter and double checked they did perform. They passed OK.
I normally use Component shop for batteries but they do not sell this size cell or battery packs.

No problems with ALIEXPRESS, but I buy parts and supplies, not kits. So can't help you with the kit side of the question

Hi Pat, I can't help you, sorry.
I don't think you'll find quality.
I tried a 1 euro lifeboat some time ago, just to understand. I only bought a lifeboat out of curiosity. It seemed very, very poor quality to me. I'm referring to static model kits.
As for motors, radios, esc, batteries, joints, axles, propellers, servo mechanisms etc. etc. we all know that we can find a bit of everything, even a decent quality.
I will continue to buy some electronic accessories from Aliexpress but I don't think wooden kits.

Hi Shippers

Has anyone brought any of the model kits from Aliexpress - if so are they 3D printed or decent quality kits.

Also how did you find the whole experience.

Cheers
