False ID. HELP needed to Recover Original.

I tested the bobs2 connection from my iPhone by adding some notes and pictures of my Kopy Kommander (Sea Commander) build and testing today and it worked OK, so I can confidently use my iPhone and my(ancient) iPad when I am away from home to communicate on Model Boats Website.

False ID. HELP needed to Recover Original.

I have just been able to log on with my iPhone as “bobs2” - rather than “zooma two” - the user name that has been linked to my iPhone, so it looks like I can eliminate one of my three user names !

However, my attempt to delete these unwanted accounts (each has its own user name) have failed.

Despite the warning that “this action will permanently delete the account”, it keeps bouncing back as strong and healthy as ever !

It is looking like my best bet is just to ignore the zooma two account and let it sleep safely for ever in the knowledge that nothing can hurt it 😵‍💫

My next course of action is to try to delete both of the unwanted user names.

I think the way to do this is to delete both membership accounts from the iPhone and the iPad and hope I can also erase them from the devices memories.

Once cleaned I should be able to link both devices back to my computer when I get home and reinstate my original zooma user name on both devices .

Hopefully this will be as simple as it sounds ............

As a matter of interest, i have tried the obvious - to log on as zooma on both my iPad and my iPhone, but that did not work - hence the reason why this confusion started, but I will keep trying as this would be the obvious preferred solution

Thank you GARY.

I have contacted fireboat as you suggested.

Sorting out my self inflicted problems as I stumbled about in all directions with my computer incompetence is probably not going to be the most welcome PM he is likely to receive - so he may not thank you for directing me to him for help !

Hopefully I can revert back to my original user name of “zooma” when I am using my iPhone or iPad when away from home - as I am able to do when back home working from my computer. 👍

Kind regards - Bob.

False ID. HELP needed to Recover Original.

Just found out that when I am using my iPhone I am “zooma too”.

When using my iMAC I am still “zooma”

….so it must be when I am using my iPad that I am “bobs2”

When I retired 7-8 years ago I had to give up my works related email that ended …@kingcobra.co.uk and made a new gmail address.

That’s when it all started to go wrong as I had problems logging-on away from home….and a new iPhone probably also helped to confuse, as did a new server in our static caravan where I spend a lot of my time in good weather !

My lack of computer skills probably completed the confusion as I tried to log on when away from home with either my new iPhone or my elderly iPad.

Basically I blame myself for this problem - but I would like to get it sorted out so I only have the one original user name (zooma) that I can use at home or when away on any device.

Hi Bob, sorry that method does not seem to work, so over to plan B, click on membership and you are looking for fireboat, as they are listed alphabetically it will not take to long. click on fireboat and you will find his details, note the number ONE member in I think 2006. good hunting, and that will give you the option of sending a private message. Take good care of yourself, regards. GARY.

This user name problem is now getting silly!
I see that depending where I am and on what device I am using I could be automatically allocated any of these three user names:-
zooma. (My original and preferred user name).

zooma too

bobs2

I really only want to keep my original username and know that whatever device I am using and wherever I am I will always have the same one.

Thanks Gary - really nice to hear from you and pleased to know that you still have my old Myford Super 7.
I still have my mint perfect Myford ML10 that I never use - I really should try to find a buyer for it as there can’t be many about as new looking or unused as this one is.
I will type in fireboat and try to message Stephen to get one user name only - whether I am at home using my iMac or away using my iPhone or iPad.
Stay in touch - Bob.

Hi Bob, you need to get in touch with Stephen, admin and owner, if you do a search and type in fireboat, that should enable you to send him a message. (Proud owner of super seven, regards, Gary.

I have been a member of the Model Boats forum for many years and have the user name zooma.
More recently when trying to log on from my iPhone or iPad I gain a different user name “zooma too”
I prefer just to have the one original username “zooma” as I would like to subscribe but want to get this anomaly sorted out first.
As I am spending lots more of my time away from home, I will be using these two mobile devices much more often and want to have the same user name of zooma whether I am at home on my iMac or away.
Can anyone help me sort this out please or give me the link to our sole active moderator Colin Bishop so I can resolve this and start to contribute to the forum more often.
Many thanks - Bob. Southport Model Boat Club.
