Chuck the receiver away, its not worth trying to buy a transmitter and a set of crystals to match an old dubious receiver.
Purchase the complete set 2.4Ghz transmitter and receiver for about £25 for Howes or Giant Shark.

HMMM wonder if he's talking something as simple as missing crystals if its a 27Mhz receiver or the like. Worth a thought.

HI Mate, welcome to the forum.

First things first, what sort of receiver is it you have???? does it say 27mhz or 40mhz, possibly 2.4ghz.????

Second you say something is missing, with two servos's it can only be the battery pack, usually 4 AA size batteries, if so they can be replaced with a 4.8volt NmHd rechargeable pack or a 4AA battery box from Maplins.

If you have no receiver they can be bought from ebay, depending on which type you need, see first line!!
