The watts on the 1100kv are a bit low, the 1250kv has only slightly less watts than the thumper but more revs, think I would go for the 1250kv motor.
Just my thoughts

Had a good look at the Action stuff today and found the P40D at £28-00p which sounds promising, brief description from the website:

"Connects to the Throttle and Steering outputs from the Rx and automatically slows down the motor on the inside of a turn when a rudder command is given. Four user-selectable degrees of mix to suit models from fast launches to very manouverable workboats. Works with both brushed and brushless speed controllers. ABS case 45.5mm x 32mm x 20mm with onboard connectors for the two outer speed controllers/motors, one centre speed controller/motor (if used) and the steering servo, thus eliminating the need to purchase extra 'Y' leads."

What did you think of the motors and speed controllers? Found a couple of compatible motors slightly more powerful on Hobby King at less than half the price 💭

This internet a wonderful thing but the more use I make of it the more confused I get 😯

Your right about Action mixers, silly me 😯 tank steering......... a good way of crashing the boat 😁 guess it's a Y lead then

That's more like the Alan I'm used to, 😁 must be because I'm nearly mended. 😊

There will be two motors and two speed controllers and to be honest I thought the only way to control them was using a Y lead. Tank steering is double dutch to my limited knowledge and anyway its a blinking boat ❓ and I was under the Impression that mixers I.e. Action Electronics P94, which is the only one I have had anything to do with, were combined with speed controllers that had limited capacity amperage wise, also I didn't think they were suitable for brushless ❓

I'm using a Futaba 6J 2.4ghz set which I understand some Action stuff is not too fond of. (not a criticism of Action electronics by the way).

Finally getting my head round the Waveney instructions and the positions and supports in the hull, fitted two Raebosch exposed prop shafts with support brackets and brass rudders to get over using the white metal bits. Putting together some pics for a later build blog.

Good to see the start of this build Shaun.
As you are fitting twin props I presume you will be fitting two of those motors and two of the ESCs.
How are you going to control these? with a Y lead, tank steering or a mixer.
the abuse will come later in the build 😁

About to start the build of my Waveney Lifeboat and decided Its time to bite the bullet and go brushless. The Instructions recommend Graupner 900 BB's which apart from being Impossible to get hold of would, I feel, overpower the model.

After a fair amount of research and advice I seem to have arrived at the following options:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=29565 for the speed controller

http://www.marionvillemodels.com/rc-shop/overlander-3548-900kv-tornado-thumper-v2-brushless-motor-rc-outrunner_1762.html for the motor

It will be fitted with a pair of M4 2022/3 brass props from the Prop Shop.

Would appreciate any advice or experiences about this set up please.
