@ColRay I bought several types of head-mounted magnifying glasses to trial them. I found the most useful ones to be the type EdW has shown, with a sheet of magnifying plastic about 3-4 inches wide. These focus at a far enough distance to let you work.
The other types - jewelers loupes and magnifying camers - need to be held right up against the work. Fine for examining microscopic detail - not so good for working.
If you can find one, the types which allow two magnifying sheets to be hung in front of your eyes offer a wider range of magnification...

Hi Ed I did purchase a pair of glasses on eBay should have multy focal lengths , ended up as only one very very strong, I guess the white part has led lights Col.

Downloading images of the Bluebird I noticed a few quality issues eg a loss of fine detail and rough edges.
One of the problems is age related failing eye sight , it started several years when I suffered an eye injury , then two years ago I had corrective eye surgery , for everyday going about things my sight as spot-on at 83 I still drive a 6 speed manual car without any problems so it isn't all bad, it's just close up work model making that is of concern.
I purchased a magnifying / stand from the local hardware store as much use as lamb chop at a vegan bar-b-q.
I have been told about a small high powered camera that usb / computer for live magnified viewing .
Anyone had any experience of this type of camera ? Col.
