Ron, I’m looking forward to hearing about the results. That is really an interesting arrangement & would be a rather easy retrofit. I’m a strong advocate for steerable Kort nozzles which most all of my tugs have. I think I could predict the results but will await your report of the results.

Beamsville has a Texas Nozzle attached to its rudder, says Marcel Theriault owner/Operator.

He said it provides better turning when towing.

I added a similar thing to my model and will see if there is any difference of control. I’m putting it in the water Aug. 9th at the Toronto event on Nathan Phillips Square reflection pool.
No, the nozzle does not encompass the blades of the propeller
