@RNinMunich Thanks very much Doug although I have seen most of the items you linked me to.
The auction at Tennants was my actual model ,estimated to sell for between £100-£200 and actually sold for £30
Now you may ask how do I know it’s the same model, well the rowing boat is resting on the roof of the rear structure which has been installed the wrong way round .
I have downloaded quite a few pictures from the Scottish Fisheries Museum of Violet and have also contacted them regarding the model boat club based there.
Thanks for your time and help it is very much appreciated.

@jumpugly I think you may have hit the nail on the head, seemingly a company called ABCO was bought out by Models by Design when the owner died so I now need to find pictures of the hull by either company.
Models by Design closed after the owner was sent to prison for murder so I’m lead to believe
Thanks very much for your input it’s very much appreciated

@jumpugly thank you very much for your reply and video, certainly looks similar and the only 67 inch model I have seen.
I have not had any success unfortunately on the internet when asking who produced such a kit but will keep plugging away for a answer thanks

A little more digging and saw mention of this fiberglass hulll supplied by Models by Design called S T Alison. But Models by Design closed down in 2019.

According to the registration she is registered in Ransdorp, Netherlands. Interesting!

Not positive, but here's a vid of the same model. Mount Fleet markets a 43." Perhaps they once did a 67" ? Also could be a scaled up "Lady" produced in 1984 by Marvon Models.😉

Steam Drifter KY251 Violet

I have recently acquired a large model of the Steam Drifter KY251 Violet and would like to know more about the model itself and who produced her.
She is 67 inches or 1.7 metres long and has a fibreglass hull which is really well moulded showing plank detail and is supposedly built from a kit, definitely not caldercraft as way too small.
I have had one gentleman telling me it was made by Aerokits / Fairey marine and was marketed as a straight runner and he knew this through his extensive knowledge of model boats . I know enough to understand that this expert actually isn’t.
I have searched the internet and am unable to come up with a manufacturer
Did Scoonies ever produce such a hull I wonder
About 10 years ago she was sold at auction as an unfinished kit for £30 which was an absolute bargain.
The gentleman I purchased her from has lost the contact details of the chap he purchased her from.
I have started to recommission her and have plans to alter a few of the details which I know are incorrect and looking forward to seeing her back on the water
Any information would be greatly appreciated thank you
