Hi Ron I can see what you mean neither one thing nor the other. I fitted a Kort nozzle as an afterthought to a boat and it works OK. But maybe in full size there is an extra cost with fitting and maintenance whilst this idea improves manoeuvrability without the extra cost? Maybe this was a later addition?
