Bob,
Could these ducks be migatory birds en-route?

More Ducks Than Boats at Southport MBC Today.

It was a lovely sunny day today with a fairly stiff breeze making perfect conditions for running a Classic Model Power Boat on the Southport Club lake.

Unfortunately, nobody informed the local ducks that the purpose made lake they were swimming on was made for model boats and not ducks!

There were so many of them today, it was not possible to enjoy driving for very long as there simply was not enough water left that did not have a duck swimming on it to be able to run freely without taking evasive action.

This is an unusually large number of ducks, so I am guessing that there is a specific reason for them being here at the moment and I doubt we will see so many here on a regular basis as there is no natural supply of food to sustain them.

Ironically, we had a superb display of our regular amphibian driving in and out of the water and that is always nice to see.

…..and I did enjoy seeing the ducks swimming around too, so it was quite a nice morning at the club.

Bob.
