...Would like to build a tug maybe a oil tanker or some sort of working vessel I live in e. Port as for cost I haven't got a clue to how much this hobby would cost
...

Tug/Anchor-handling vessel:

Barges to go with it:

Cost of these is low - wood about £3, since the tug is only a foot long. Print the plans on A3 rather than A4, and the tug becomes 17" long - and of course you can enlarge it even further...

I see you reside on the Wirral and there are clubs at E Port, New Brighton, Hoylake and West Kirby. I suggest you visit on a sailing day and see what models are being sailed. if you talk to the members they will advise how they built/acquired their models and what size is viable for your chosen sailing water.
With your previous experience you should have a good understanding of how models work but boats can take some time to complete so a bit of research may help you avoid some of the pitfalls and help you get a working model on the water fairly quickly.
When you have chosen your model plan you will find plenty of advice on this site to help with any building problems.
Good luck

It would help to know something about the type of boat you are interested in. Only lifeboats, or sailing galleons, big warships, scale oil tankers, racing hydroplanes, cabin cruisers..... and how much you want to spend....

It is also useful to find out where the nearest sailing lake is to you, and whether there's a club that uses it.

In the meantime, if you want to start with some simple, easy to build and cheap boats, I could suggest this site, which has free plans and instructions and build logs for a number of boats, including a Tamar lifeboat...
