hinges

With hinges this small the problem is fixing them. Epoxy is the only real answer. So they are stuck to the back of the door, in this case. A piece of card glued over that with the panels marked on.

Neat idea and very practical. Are the hinges inset in the door or flush-mounted?

Snip off two sections as wide as the hinge required. Clean up with a needle file, insert the pin. that's it done.
Finally the repaired hinge in place on the door.

hinges

I needed to repair a hinge on the door to the on off switch on me paddle steamer. I can't remember if I posted making the originals. Someone may find my method useful.
A square of brass about 1mm thick or less. I got mine by flattening a .5inch tube from the model shop.
A small brass tube into which a pin will just fit, cut off piece longer than the square, this is so the solder will not go into the tube. Hold it together as in photo & silver solder. If soft solder is used it can melt when grinding the knuckles. The knuckles are cut with a dremel cutting disc in the lathe. the flap of the hinge squeezed between 2 bitts of scrap.
