Thanks for your reply, will look into the suggested sites, I use 11.1 lipo batteries on my Tamar Lifeboat with 850 brushed motors, I was a little worried about the weight with the Brede Lifeboat
Thanks once again

if its the Kingston mouldings model they used twin decaperm motors. So your looking at high torque.

This indicates an outrunner.

cheap and available what size prop?

the first one can handle 30 A way more than a decaperm

BUT if I were you I should go down the brushed road way cheaper and since your not looking to break speed records you will get all the performance you want.
Weight is not an issue so consider lead acid batteries. Cheaper and way less risky to charge.

Sorry to seem to be putting a downer but its horses for courses if you need light weight go lipo and brushless in your case I wouldn't bother.

have a look at the "charging lipo fire thread"
"that's not a bug its just an undocumented creature."

I have just started to build a Brede lifeboat and looking for information to power the boat, looking towards brushless motors with 11.1 lipo's, can anyone advise what size of motors I would need, it is a 1/12 scale
