MYSTERY HULL

Thanks Dave,
Am now going to try and run some plans down for the Williamsburg and if successful, plan on building her using that hull.
Will certainly write a blog. However, as I now have several ships to refurbish over winter, along with continuing my HMS Beagle project, doubt will see much progress until later next year.
The Williamsburg was a fine looking ship with a good pedigree and military service Pity her end looks so sad. For other readers who may be interested, there is a history of this vessel on the web.

MYSTERY HULL

The schooner stern and large rudder suggest a vessel from the first part of the last century.
Construction is bread and butter planks that appear to be laid horizontally. I built a cruiser hull in the 1960's using this construction.
The yacht you suggest is from the 1930', so should make into a nice model. With modern power tools you may be able to clean up the insides and reduce the weight, I know my model was always on the heavy side and I wished I have carved more out of the inside. Withe this type of construction the bulwarks were inevitably added to the hull at a later stage.
Be good to see a build blog as others may have, or come across similar hulls, and could be inspired to do something similar.

MYSTERY HULL

Was recently given a hull that was found floating on Lake Ontario years ago. Unless somebody can suggest who it could have belonged to, am thinking of using it for a future project.
The exterior is nicely finished, but the interior crude. There is no sheer, it needs building up to the correct height. About 42" long with a breadth of around 7"
Think the mid-body is too short for a liner or cargo vessel, so it looks rather more like a coastal steamer. The only vessel I have found which looks similar is the yacht USS
" Williamsburg".
Would appreciate any other suggestions for a build.
