Your thoughts please

HI Alan
I used 'n' gauge track on my 34" Crash Tender. Made a former for each window shape and bent the rails to shape. Soldered the join so makes a neat job.

Didn't have to heat as the track is quite malleable.
Cheers

I have heard of people using model railway track, bending it around a former and soldering the ends.....Roger

Your thoughts please

Just planning ahead a bit here, I am going to build the Sea Rover boat from the Vintage Model Boat company this winter. Rather than stick the Perspex on the inside of the windows I would like to have window frames. I thought I had a good idea by heating angled plasticard in hot water and bending it around the aperture, this was not a success (and scolded my fingers) then I tried a heat gun, this was not a success either. I could cut the outer bit out of thin plasticard but the problem is getting it even all the way round and the same on all windows, then run thin plasticard around the aperture and glue it to the outer piece Mmmm

So I would appreciate any good ideas or explanations from anyone that has done it.

Alan
