Hi – thanks for the information regarding the model stand, very much appreciated – I need something substantial for my Milford Star build.

Hi – good luck with your research, and rebuild, a very nice subject – can you tell me where the magnificent boat stand came from it is exactly what I'm looking for.😁

Hi Scratchbuilder
Welcome to the site.
Clearly a Scottish inter island steamer.
If you look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Arran
you sill see that : "The previous Arran of 1933 was renamed Kildonan, to release the name - she was scrapped on arrival of MV Glen Sannox in 1957".
Its possible the original builder based your model on this vessel (scrapped in 1957) and that could be a pic of the original you have posted.
The Basset-Lowke motor is clearly of some age and value should you wish to replace it with a new motor.
There are lots of links on Google to this subject and hopefully you will be able to find more pics as you research.
Good hunting

Arran Glasgow.

Hello.
I am trying to establish as much information as possible on the boat as show in the attached pictures.
This model was found in the boot of a car some 40 years ago by a friend of mine when he bought the car.It has lain in his shed from that day to this.
It clearly is Scratch built and has a Basset-Lowke motor.(which works very well after all that time lying idle)
It is plank on frame construction.
I have found limited information on line on her but am wondering if anyone has a wealth of knowledge on either the model or its real life version. The last picture shows a hulk of what I think is the same ship.
Regards Bill.
