Yes I am sure you are quite right.
I can see I have much to learn and it is interesting.
So many different aspects to address.......so few brain cells functioning.
Hope to do more on the wiring Saturday.
Cheers all.

Neil, Dave is right!
The 'skill level' for this kit is given as 4 - Very Experienced!
Do the yacht next then see how you go.

Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug
That is good news as the kit makes into a very attractive and realistic model.
Still believe it is more suitable for a modellers with a few models to their name.

Yep Mark, under the brand name roMarin.
It's advertised on several German model supplies sites with accessory / fitting set, e.g.
https://www.cmc-versand.de/en/roMarin/Happy-Hunter-Bergungsschlepper-Baukasten-arnr-19-ro1106
or direct from Krick.

Cheers Doug 😎
PS cheaper at CMC but ONLY ONE LEFT!
I have bought lots of 'stuff' from CMC and find them them very quick, helpful and reliable.

The Happy Hunter was produced and sold by Robbe.
They ceased trading some years ago as did Graupner so you may find it difficult to purchase and the additional fittings kits if sold sold separately may no longer be available.
I have seen a model built professionally for a local supplier and the kit made a superb model. it is, in my opinion, more suitable for a builder with several models experience.
It's good to hear you are so inspired to take on the next challenge but this may be a step too far at present.
There is a buid post at

No worries mate, have the esc's got a max and min voltage??? they may not work at 6volts, if not then a set of 7.2v NimH packs will be brilliant x2 or possibly 4 packs with a Y lead for each pair, 3300mah packs are going for a good price on ebay at the moment, also have a look at component shop and hobbyking, be sure you are on the uk site to keep the postage down!!!! Wouldn't bother with lipo batteries, SLA or NimH are more user friendly.
If you want the H/H superstructure try contacting Krick they now make the kit, took over from Robbe when the went bust.
Are the propshafts ok??? withdraw the shafts and lightly oil them get the oil into the inner bearing as well.

hi -the hull only had these two motors and gearboxes in .I have greased the gearboxes cleaned the motors and soldered the wires on .The casings of the motors were rusty and have just been painted with a rust killer type paint..There is a bow thruster fitted with no motor but this locks up after about half a turn of the drive shaft -looks like I will need to replace this.I have bought 2 Chinese speed controllers with max current rating of 250amps ( waterproof type) I have used these before and seem ok but my experience is limited..The intention was to drive the motors separately on 2 channels
