Many thanks for the info, looks like it will be quicker to build than to search and buy.
Plenty of info there for me, thanks to all
HI there, I've just been through the same and decided to make one which turned out to be fairly easy. The most critical thing is to get it as near perfectly lined up and in a jig when you solder. Mine is 111mm high, 73mm wide and the top mast section 52mm so pretty similar to other dimensions you have been given. After cutting the pieces I used panel pins and packing to line it all up on a piece of wood, with some good quality flux the brass tube and strip is easily secured with a normal small soldering Iron. Other details in plasticard and a Robbe masthead light with wires running down the top tube. The lower legs be 'beefed up' and shaped a little with 1mm thick wooden aerofoil style fairings the same width as the brass stip and I've plugged the horizontal cross pieces with shaped wooden dowels to take rigging. Have a go, it's great fun and a tremendous feeling of satisfaction!! Cheers, Roger

HI and welcome to the fireboat website, it is unlikely that you will be able to purchase a mast for your fireboat, it isnt too difficult to make one, mine is soft soldered brass K&S flat section and 3.5mm round rod. mine is not scale but "looks right" it measures 100mm high with a cross bar 75mm wide 50mm up, its 75 wide at the base
if you click on the "useful links" section in the menu and go to Petes site there is a really well detailed build blog for the fireboat including making a mast and fire monitors etc.
you could also make one from plastic section if soldering isnt your thing.
hope this is of some help
David

HI
I too tried to find a ready made mast for my 34" boat, but in the end made one out of brass tube.
I scaled down the drawing of the mast on Pete Harvey's 46" Fireboat restoration ( See his website in Links ) then pinned out the tube on some wood before soldering it together. it was a bit of a fiddle, but although not entirely accurate I was pleased with the result .
Good luck if you try
Best Wishes
Chris

HI All,
Does anyone know where I can get a mast assembly, top of wheelhouse, for a 34" 1/16 scale fireboat?
This Is the last piece I need.
