batteries

thanks batt44 I have tried 6volts but no good boat wont plane, the prop Im turning is three blader and I believe its 35. the set up Im using is good boat looks good planes but have only short duration,
peter my boat is scaled down from aerokits fire boat with my own drawings for safety boat superstructure,
thinking maybe to build another one as plug to produce a grp hull. or poss build in balsa instead of ply to reduce wieght.
but for all that will try a 7.2 battery of higher mha

I take it you are running 2/3 sub "c" 7.2 volt1500mah saddle type racing battery's just go to 7.2v of a higer amp like the 4.6ah ones, you will proberley get 4 times more and the weight is not that much more the boat if it is a Deans was designed to have full sized sub "c" s.
thay are also very cheap these days.

hI chiffs you don't mention what size prop you are pushing but I would believe it's not that big being you are only running a 400 motor. you could up the amps on the batteries that might help but not by much,or you could run on 6 volts so you are not pushing the motor so hard, have you considered putting in a 545 type motor on 7.2 using a 30-35 mm prop I have used this set up in the past for this size boat and got about 15-20 Min's run time
