46 Inch Fireboat

HI Jeremy
Welcome, I'm sure you'll find the site very helpful as I did.

It would be a start if you could tell us what scale or lenght your Fireboat is, and perhaps where you are located as there may be someone local to you who you could help.

Good Luck and best wishes
Chris

46 Inch Fireboat

HI Jeremy
Welcome to the site.
If you browse through the site you will find many references to other members set-ups. (All Things R.C. - Power Setups).
If you want the model to rise on the plane correct positioning of the battery and other equipment is very Important. Lead acid are heavy, Nicads/NimH lighter and now available in high capacity. You will also need a suitable ESC and probably water cooling.
If you will give a few more details I'm sure we will be able to give you all the help and advice you need.

46 Inch Fireboat

Hi,

I have been asked to get a fireboat going for a friend. The hull and superstructure are In really good condition even though Its about 35/40 years old.It has a prop + shaft and a rudder fitted. What I need to know Is what Is the best electric motor to power It. I was thinking of something like an 850 MFA torpedo on 12 volts? Any thoughts.

I will have some pictures of It soon along with another unknown boat?
