Good buy from Lidl

Hi just bought the same, great bit of kit for shaping and sanding,I also bought the mini grinder for £16 with an assortment of collets and attachments, then I noticed an extra pack with hundreds of fittings and wheels in for £12. What value I was so impressed I bought another cordless grinder to save changing all the time, and guaranteed for 3 years. Ps NO I don't work for lidl. All the best Roger👍

I was so impressed by all the posts the I trotted off to my local store and bought one. Construction is pretty good and the performance is more than adequate. Well spotted that man.😊

Good idea Colin but you don't get the discount offers on line. Re the discs left over stock is sold off for buttons. Keep your eyes open for them. Look on the reduced table(s)👍👍

Sadly, we don't have a Lidl in town. The nearest is about 12 miles away, so it looks like I won't manage to get one of these. I will have to watch for a similar item from Aldi. Cheers all, Dave W 😊

The "OZONE" smell is as partner said ,at least in part. As they bed in they arc a little and burn off any oil on the commutator. Very common on model trains. it will settle down with use.👍

I'm still using the same disk that I put on when I bought the sander this time last year with very little sign of wear from the shaping of balsa, beech and ply (and occasionally brass rod !!), they do seem to last a good while 👍👍
I bought an extra set of disks at the same time too so at this rate they'll outlast me 😜

The Lidl disc size is 125mm whereas the Toolstation ones are 150mm. No doubt they can be cut down.

Bought a couple of packets when I bought mine a year ago,as wingcoax said they usually have them at the same time as there selling the tool.

I dont use Lidl much, but Aldi seem do all the sandpaper and bits for their tools such as belt sanders WHEN they sell the tools. Maybe Lidl do the same.

Hi Marky, Have you managed to source the adhesive sandpaper discs the machine uses? I have not enquired at Lidl yet, but will next time I am there.

word of caution, captive nut that holds the front guide on tends to work loose after changing the discs a few times nothing a bit of super glue can't solve

I bought one tonight. I find that when running there is a strong 'electrical' smell. My partner says that it is the brushes arcing. is this normal? Apart from that it looks a useful tool
