how did your sailing day go?

Many thanks for the TBD pics John,
Wonderful stuff👍
I admire the folks who have the knack for such beautiful mechanical gubbins.
Electrickery is my forte.😉
When I saw the first photo I immediately wondered if she was based on the Deans kit or semi-kit of the 'Skirmisher'. Photo reminded me of the Dave Wooley series in Model Boats mag on building the Skirmisher.
My congrats to the no doubt proud builder/owner 👍👍
Cheers, Doug 😎

how did your sailing day go?

hi ya
pretty windy today (after rain at first) so there wasnt much sailing for us lot - but the yachties were loving it. I took my oil rig supply vessel down The Seaforth Conqueror and had 10 mins down the lake. Hope you all had some good sailing today.
Lets see some more pics of your sailing :-)

how did your sailing day go?

hi ya Doug,
Well here are a couple of pics of John Neilson's torpedo destroyer boat - it's based loosely on a couple of photographs that he had seen - so its not of a particular vessel.

Hi John,
Thanks for the info.👍
More pics, especially internals, would be great, as long as it's not too much trouble.
Is your club all 'steam powered' ? 😉
I'm not a steamer myself but can admire the skills, and courage, of those who are.
Cheers, Doug

Hi there Doug
the model is loosely based on a TBD and its built by John Nielson basically built for straight running so its a stand off scale. Note the handle on the back end for holding it when its on the water. Having said all of that, if you like, when I go back to the lake I will ask John if I may take some more pics. its steam driven as well Doug.

Open day to day at South Shields model club, And the SUN came out just for us - a few more pics to follow when I find where they are on the computer :-)

Anyone interested that's Don Walkinshaw's Bluebird with a home made jet engine.

Pisces II owned by Bob Kirtley and this held the World Speed record for steam powered hydro plane at 122 mph (tethered)
