Must forward this to the Fleet admiral-a dispatch was received from PO Errol Cat who is in command of the Texas Navy’s flagship San Jacinto while CPO Hargett is on leave following the skirmish with the Oklahomans-message reads “meow, meow, meeeowww, hiss hiss purr meow” translation follows:
“On last watch noticed rogue Oklahoman rabbits of their Second squadron assembling what appeared to be a an unauthorized shore battery of unknown size, probably 3 pounder. Tried to contact to no avail. Later in the watch the battery was turned against the San Jacinto, but their aim was high and they missed our fwd bow and mid ships. I then ordered the fwd batteries to open fire. Result, rabbits retreating north to Oklahoma, shore battery destroyed. Signed, Errol T Cat, PO, temporary commander San Jacinto”
Respectfully requesting shore leave for my crew and an increase in the catnip ration for PO Errol Cat upon my return from leave, which should be this weekend.
CPO Cash Hargett, Texas Navy western squadron.

Sorry Fleet you misunderstood me, I was referring to those junior to yourself, you have the right to do as you like, but I was wondering if there was anyone else on board. Sure we'll have a nice quiet patrol tonight, we'll ask the Commodore and the Lieutenant if they have any preferences as to course. Weather is good, WO Rooky brought the outlook on board.

BTW Ref: "if you wish me to carry out other or further duties, then I am prepared."

Just don't get lost (remind me to appoint a NAV Officer!) and make sure you can get there and back on the current fuel load to be back on station tomorrow at 0800 ZULU. I don't want to see any unexpected RAS bills!!😠

Commodore Figtree is still hanging around somewhere (perusing tug model catalogues in the Wardroom I expect), and Lt. Marky has retired to the CO's Day Cabin, absorbing his medicinal Wee Dram.🙄
WO Rooky is probably in the Gun Room 😉
CPO Cash is on leave following the action against the Oklahoma invasion fleet, probably enjoying the spoils of war!

All quiet, Rooky and I have taken full advantage of the high standards of catering in the Gun Room and now awaiting the duty steward with mugs of hot chocolate. Interesting conversation with one of the look-outs. He's wondering if we should look out for refugees in small boats escaping from BorisTrumpland.

CPO Hargett reporting. New fleet tug Taucher has passed sea trials and is berthed with other Western Fleet vessels and the staff Studebaker. No problems here with the Hurricane this far north, however, HQ was invaded by daughters sleepover with 2 of her friends. Also, since the Commodore was celebrating her 50th at a downtown Dallas hotel on an overnight with HER friends, (think slightly inebriated Baptist middle age women😂) I pulled rank and had some possible recruits over for movies and pizza. I had the watch Sunday night till 0330 hours, when I succumbed to too much pizza and a little bourbon. PO Errol finished the watch.

Seriously, I think I could have been less tired if I had been at work. My body keeps telling me I’m not 25 anymore.

Weather officers telling me the high pressure ridge is back again, will be high 90s and dry next few days..skies clear, boats docked, swabbed, all maintenance complied with, logs complete. CPO Hargett hitting the sack lights out in an hour.

Night Watch

Hi Doug,

We have been out all day and switching the computer on when we came in, could find no posts from you at all and knowing your normal behaviour wondered what had happened to you.
Our journey today to the realms of Gracie Fields 'Rochdale Hunt' (that dates me) was to inspect a new(old) vehicle for use in the dockyards of the South Wales Flotilla, There was a requirement for a VSMV for conversion to mobile accomodation as I mentioned to you a while ago. If I tell you that VSMV stands for very slow moving vehicle you will understand that Alice has acquired her milk float. It will be delivered in a few days time.

I too am following the parliamentary shenanigans with great interest. Don't forget that I have family ex pats in France who are worried to death as to what is going to happen. As an immediate thing which has been going on since the Brexit referendum their pensions have been cut in line with devaluation and that has hurt
. No doubt you've noticed this too. Again, like you, they have the worry of all the other things that could hit them if Boris gets his way. I won't mention my feelings about the Boris/Trump tie up. Peas in a pod comes to mind., and rotten ones at that.

I thought you would appreciate our weather conditions. Much of our rain is local to us, Drive to Swansea and it's dry. Go over the mountain to the Towe and Teifi valleys and there'll be bright sunshine

Pleased to hear all the regular crew are on board ready to deal with whatever the sea and circumstances can throw at us.

Calm seas and fair winds.

Cheers,
Nerys.

"Doug, I wish you'd taken more of our weather over to the Chiemsee, Alice is becoming increasingly frustrated with the rain. "

Hi Nerys,
If it's any consolation we had monsoon rains on Monday🌧️, sunny Tuesday, sun/cloud Wednesday. And now rain from Thursday (today😮) until at least next Tuesday is forecasted.
So your next parcel of rain is already on it's way. Hope that keeps Alice dry for a few days🤞

Your weather propagation theory sounds familiar.
Similar thing happens here.
Weather fronts coming from the NW to W tend to get stuck in the SE corner of Bavaria cos they come up against the Alps and dump their content over south Bayern, where we are🌧️🌧️☹️ Trust Alice has a tarp for emergencies👍
Her problem with the micro climate reminds me of Wellington from The Perishers, who was followed around by his own personal rain cloud!☹️
Cheers, Doug 😎

Hi Nerys,
Thanks for your concern 😊
Yesterday I was detailed to Special Duties on the beach (all very Hush Hush!🙈🙉🙊) 😉

Today I've been following the debates and Divisions on a live feed from the the House of Commons re the BREXIT shenanigans 🤔
Was pleased to see that Boris Trump lost a further two votes.
Including trying to force a General Election (after loosing the first vote) in order to paralyse parliament even more and force a No Deal BREXIT through.
I very much hope that Parliament can stave off No Deal and get rid of him.
If it comes to a No Deal crash out then hundreds of thousands of guys n gals like me living in EU countries will have a big problem. Overnight we will become Illegal Aliens through no fault of our own. This aspect (and continued payment of our pensions) was briefly mentioned just once during 12 hours of debate, in contrast to the fate of EU citizens living in UK.

Looks like Lt Marky is OOD/OOW again! Look after him Warrant 😉
WO Rooky and CPO Jacko are also on board 👍
Commodore Ed will be Zeding in his Stateroom 😴 if required.
Lt Cmdr Colin is excused watch duty, having been zotting around the country on Black Ops the last few days. He's currently enjoying a well earned R&R (or should be!)

Doug, I wish you'd taken more of our weather over to the Chiemsee, Alice is becoming increasingly frustrated with the rain. She's managed to get most of the boarding of the roof on but now it's pouring and she can't finish it.

We are very wet here, my theory is that bad weather comes up the Bristol Channel, hits the Gower peninsula, splits in two. One side carries on up the channel and the other comes up the Gwendraeth and Amman valleys until it gets here. It then stops because there is a large mountain in the way (a mile up the road), thus creating a micro climate that deposits rain onto a poor innocent shed builder.

Cheers,
Nerys
