NEWS BULLETIN
* Ken Thompson has earned his promotion to Warrant Officer, BRAVO ZULU Ken 👍

* Construction problems and budget overruns with the Black Budget project "Evolution" are causing concern and are currently under investigation.😠
Design Team, Chief Engineer and Exec VP of the yard are "assisting" enquiries. Commodore and I will do our best to keep it low key! Allocated resources may be diverted to other projects, depending on the outcome of the Board of Enquiry.

* Latest Sea Plane Tender of the NZ Navy is nearing completion and we are awaiting Sea trial reports. Due to lack of seaplanes in the NZ Navy members PMDevlin and RNinMunich are being contacted with a request to provide support by supplying, on loan, two PBY Catalina Flying Boats, in order to justify the acquisition of the tender!🙄

* Sail Trainer Veronica is also nearing completion and we await sea trials with great anticipation.
Rumours of the invention of Retsina flavoured chewing gum during the course of the boat's development have unfortunately proven to be Fake News☹️

* We also look forward to the future addition of Gemini G10 to augment our Logistic Supply Fleet!😋

* Progress on our new, almost complete, Fleet Tug 'Taucher Wulf' has, understandably, been delayed due to hurricane Dorian. Update from CPO Cash Texas Navy ASAP.
END OF BULLETIN.

Hi Peter. I'm originally from Barry, but moved away when my Master Mariner father joined a training ship on the Medway. Moved back to Wales five years ago after 66 years of exile. Now sailing my boats on the lake in Barry where I floated pond yachts before the war. I have never heard of or met a male Nerys but perhaps your wife coming from a more Welsh part of the principality has.

Yes Nerys, totally agree with you, we do need small local museums, especially boat orientated.
My wife is originally from a little village called Treuddyn, North Wales, two buses a day,one shop, two pubs and beautifully quite.
My wife has a sister called Nerys, so the name can be used for male and female.😐

Glad you found it interesting, I was quite impressed. Pity there aren't similar small museums around. Shows they don't have to be big modern edifices costing a fortune to start and run. Hope you have a good holiday. What part of Wales is your wife from?

Good luck,

——-flash traffic to RNinMunich——-for your eyes only——
Ships cat name is Errol
Raised from feral kitten, now ships cat Texas Squadron
AKA “Errol the Feral”

All kidding aside, he’s a good cat. Saw him the back yard when I used to smoke (switched to vaping) and you couldn’t get within 20 feet of him he would run. I kept sweet talking him, he got curious, then we started feeding him, and one day he rolled over and showed me his belly and I knew he would be part of the family. Hes a big boy, 16-17 pounds, gentle as can be. He’ll roughhouse, but he doesn’t bite or scratch.
He’s the cat on “lookout” in my avatar.

I have to admit that I started Night Watch one sleepless night JFF.
Thought it would be a one off post and that would be that.
Frankly I've been amazed😮, and very pleased😊, how it took off and the (predominately🙄) positive resonance it has generated.
It has produced a lot of great humour, and even some interesting facts about all sorts of ships n stuff!
Was glad to welcome you (and the Texas Navy) aboard Chief👍
BTW: we need the name of your cat for his/her paybook!
He / she can't take over your watch without all the usual bureaucratic paraphernalia!
Therefore he/she is hereby appointed Acting Petty Officer 2nd class for the duration of your unfortunate (🙄) incapacitation!

I like my fish and chips, some places are better than others, Whitby is good. Around here, a bit disappointing unless one goes to where we went tonight. It's right on the front, Eastern end of Swansea Bay. Lovely view of the bay right across to the Mumbles and from the restaurant one can see how many ships are in the dock at Port Talbot. Three tonight.

Rooky, if you are spending that amount of time in Whitby, you may be tempted to go wandering around and if your wanderings take you as far as Bridlington, there is a very interesting little museum in the harbour. It is devoted to the sailing coble, a couple of which, beautifully restored are in the harbour. We went there about two years ago. It's only small, but packed full of interesting models of cobles and other local craft and nautical artefacts. It's run by volunteers, entry is free but well worthy of a donation.

Cheers,
