Shipping crates

Thanks all for the advice.

The Yachyt I am going to drop the mast to help in the shipping, but not as worried about it, as i am about my tug.

She is an old girl plus the sentimental value is high.

Again thanks all, will be asking a few chippies in my area.

Shipping crates

BTW Heath:
When my Graf Spee (1.5m) arrived from Graupner she was sitting strapped into a styrofoam cradle which was glued to the bottom of the box.
All detachable parts, turrets, ship's boats etc, were packed in a separate box in a slot in the foam.
Good luck,
Cheers, Doug 😎

Shipping crates

I kinda figured that you were the right guy for that question Peter 👍😉
Hope your latest creations also arrive there still looking 'ship shape'!🤞
Happy river cruising,🚤
Cheers, Doug 😎

@ Heath:
I assume that you will unship the keel and mast of the yacht or it could get a bit tricky to pack 😮 Triangular box perhaps 😁
Have fun in the land of opportunity (to get shot at the Mall!? 🤔) Hope not 🤞

Shipping crates

I have shipped two boats to Hungary. I made boxes from 12mm plywood. I made six sides and screwed them together. I packed the boats in well with corrugated cardboard and bubble wrap. They both arrived in good condition, transported by UPS.
Hope all goes well.
Peter.
I cannot promise to finish one project before starting another. I know, I tried.

Shipping crates

Hello All

Wondering if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction. I am moving across the pond to the states later this year and would like to take 2 of my boats with me, one is a Tug and the other a Yacht.

Does anyone know of a place I can order a strong shipping crate for them, as they will be traveling with my container of items to the states and I don't want them damaged.

Thanks in advance.
