HI Colin
Radio Control Boat Modeller March/April 1992 had an article on Making Fenders. This was an Argus specialist publications and am not sure if they still trade. However I have a copy of the mag and will happily send you a photo copy of the article if requested. it produces very realistic fenders for any vessel and is fully described in the article.

Fender making.

HI Colin
My wife makes mine for some yarn she bought on Ebay TWILLEY TWENTY COTTON YARN 20G she uses 2 strands and knits them for small scale boats, or she uses dishcloth cotton for my larger models. When you are next at the lake in Cwmbran I will show you what they are like, I am biased but I think they are good. Graham J Cwmbran Club.

Fender making.

HI fellow boaters,
Does anyone know where I can get Instructions about making traditional rope fenders, my wife has tried various knitting and crocheting and lace making methods but none seem to look right.
Also fishing net tying, used to have a mate In Grimsby who tied nets for a living but sadly he died before he was able to teach me.
Any sugestions gratefully appreciated.
Fair winds and calm waters,
COLIN.
