1) Typically how long is a 4" teak deck plank?
2) How have others finished a deck that does not look to have a skin over it?

DECK PLANKING
Am building a 68' Vosper RAF RTTL.
One of the features of the class is the deck is teak planks, with a mahogony rubbing strip around the edge.
Am using basswood strip where the teak wpuld have been used and a mahogony rubbing strip.
Have planked several models before, but not been happy with the finish.
Have ended up using a clear matte aerosol spray over the deck. Not been entirely happy with this as the surface tends to look as if it has a clear matte skin.

1) what is the typical length of a 4" deck plank?
2) how have others finished the deck so it does not look quite so uniform and "shiny"?
