Rick,
Yes, one of the problems is moving them, I have a sailing cutter that is quite heavy and awkward to get my hands around to move. The forum group "rcgroups" has a number of examples of member built boat movers, some very elaborate. I'd like to build one but it's just another project to add to the stack!

Peter,
You've got me laughing now. My wife just stays out of my work areas, after 38 years she's finally given up on trying to change my ways. (well maybe.....)

Oh you are so right I have a boat I started 5 years ago now and it sits unfinished for two reasons first was it was turning out to be to big for easy moving in and out of the water the second was cost to continue after finding out how heavy it would be .

The problem with stopping when you have a problem Rick is that sometimes you have difficulty starting again - have 5 or 6 that have sat for many years because of that .

Temptation is always to start something new as an excuse . Have completed quite a few projects while they sat in a cupboard.

Currently working on two newish projects (4 boats in all) which will definitely be completed before them .........

Not sure about others but I find in a project and I have a few on the go all the time I come to a spot that isn't going well and so I put a stop on doing more until finding out how to fix or go foreword so out comes another project to work on maybe not that boat but maybe a refit or repair I had put off.I do know that's the way I deal with my hobbies .

I think you have the same disease as me Joe.
Cannotfinishoneprojectbeforestartinganotheritis.
It`s not serious, but has a rather nasty side affect. Wifewantingtoknowwhenyouaregoingtotidyyourmessitis.
This is much more serious and hard to find a cure.
Good luck with all of those projects.
Peter.😁
I cannot promise to finish one project before starting another. I know, I tried.

Now I know that I am not the only one with this problem, multiple projects always ongoing......
Photo is of just my boat projects stacked in my tiny upstairs extra bedroom that I call my studio. I use this little 10' x 10' space in addition to my garage. Looking at the photo, top to bottom.
- Brooklyn Tug - awaiting sea trials after some refit.
- Rescue Tug - awaiting sea trials
- Sailing Barge - in progress waiting for warm weather to paint outside.
- Current build, "river barge" but really don't know what to call it as it is evolving daily...

And, now I am already trying to decide what boat is next.

But boats are only part of the affliction, I also am designing and building vacuum tube guitar amplifiers, making misc stuff with wood and metal in the garage, and doing some oil painting. Good thing I am retired!
