Fire Tender Mast

Thanks for the reply. I did go to model slipway and buy all the parts they had but unfortunately they didn't do the mast (I see a market there for anyone who builds all the different size masts). The model at the moment weighs quite a bit but I think that's down to the 5mm of paint slapped on it. I will be putting a photo album of the restoration on the Model Boat website and there are a few photo's of the boat there already. Just go there and type in my prc9763 and have a look.

Fire Tender Mast

HI Paul
Welcome to the site.
Sets of fittings are available from Model Slipway and others. The masts are another matter. I made mine from drawings and a recent post in this section of the Forum "Mast-RAF Crash Tender " provided original plans for the mast and its base. I suggest you look at the photo gallery to view how others have made their masts as the geometry is quite distinctive. The original could be lowered, hence the shape and some modellers have made their masts with this feature.
The 1/16 model needs to be kept light so choose your materials carefully as any excess weight high up will not Improve the handling of the boat at speed.
Good luck with the restoration, why not start a blog or post some pictures of your model. 😀

Fire Tender Mast

HI can anyone help me? I'm restoring a 1/16th Aerokits Fire Tender and I'm looking for a place I can purchase the mast and fittings for the mast. Any Ideas?
Paul 😊
