I used different size styrene tubes and brass wire soldered together. I thought it daunting too at the start just looking at a 2 dimensional piece of paper but viewing lots of photos of RAAF launches somehow gave me the depth I needed. Don't despair if I can do it nyone can.

Lovely job, and if that's a first scratch model, then I wonder what heights you will reach when you really get into it. Hope we'll see pictures of her on the water when we all get our 'demob' papers.
In fact, there's going to be an all mighty plethora of 'First pics of her sailing', pictures sometime in the future, (not too distant hopefully).

Beautiful model, I have the bare bones of the hull built. I keep looking at that mast as I just know that it is going to give me grief. But as a friend of mine used to say "don't look at it as a problem but a challenge to your ingenuity". Still I have to finish the hull first.

After 4 months starting with a piece of paper and a bundle of wood have successfully completed my first scratch model. When it gets a chance to sail depends on Co vid 19. All modellers please stay safe.😍👍
